KJ Apa legit broke his hand during the scene from the Season 1 finale when Archie and the crew rescue Cheryl from the frozen river. And he didn’t even tell anyone on set!

“That was a gnarly day of shooting, I’ll tell you that much. I wasn’t really punching the ice, but I got a little bit too excited. I was punching a foam mat … [that was] sitting on the ice. It was cold, so I didn’t really feel it,” kJ said to TVLine. “It wasn’t until 20 minutes after that I realized I broke my hand. I didn’t tell anyone.”

The 20-year-old took to Twitter to let everyone know that yes, he did break his hand during filming of this epic moment.

Our finale ep is so good I can't stop thinking about it. Not to mention I broke my hand while shooting it. Mental.

Rob Raco and KJ Apa legit almost threw up on each other filming a jail scene. Seriously! Rob explained that before he and KJ and filmed a scene where they had to intensely run, they guys decided to indulge in some cheese. And they were feeling rather sick once they had to start running again.

“We were doing stunts for an episode in jail and here we are being like, ‘we’re on break. It’s dope. It’s like 150 degrees outside, we’re in full sweats and we deserve some snacks,'” Rob recalled to Seventeen. “We think the stunts are over and this cheese platter rolls through and I think it was KJ’s first time experiencing smoked gouda. We eat the whole platter and then they call us back in to finish the stunt. The whole time we’re running in the heat with a belly full of smoked gouda, about to puke on each other.”

Yikes, that doesn’t sound fun, at all!

In the highly anticipated flashback episode in Season 3 where the main cast played the younger version of their on-screen parents, Lili Reinhart and Madelaine Petsch had to both slap each other during a showdown in the girls’ bathroom that lands the young Alice and Penelope in detention. Although the actresses didn’t actually slap each other during the scene, they did accidentally (and minorly) hurt each other, which Lili explained on Twitter.

Madelaine Petsch had a panic attack when she had to film one of Cheryl and Jason Blossom’s most memorable scenes out on Sweetwater Water since she has a deep fear of water.

“I’m afraid of open bodies of water. I was in a glass-bottomed boat that broke a long time ago, so I’ve always been kind of freaked out,” Madelaine said. “When I read the script for that scene in Riverdale, I assumed they’d use a stunt double in the boat. When I got to set, they were like, ‘So, we’re gonna put you in a wetsuit.’ And I was like, ‘Excuse me? A what?’ Then I found out the person rowing the boat was no one who’d ever rowed a boat before — it’s the guy who plays my brother, Trevor Stines. They were like, ‘It’s OK, we gave him a quick five-minute course on how to row a boat. We’ll have a giant buoy about a hundred yards away from you. Everything will be fine.'”

Umm okay, we totally can see why the 24-year-old starlet was scared at first.

“But me being me, I was having a panic attack. No one knew I was freaking out. I had to wear these beautiful Valentinos in the boat when I got in. So, I was terrified of stepping in the boat, but then I got in and Trevor was amazing,” she continued. “It was great therapy, but I was still terrified. Once we started shooting, I was fine. I was like, ‘It’s fun. It’s Cheryl. It’s not me.’ But getting into it, I was terrified. You can ask Trevor. I thought I was going to die.”

There’s actually a reason why Cole Sprouse was the only main cast member to not sing during the musical episode in Season 2. And it all comes down to the fact that the 26-year-old legit doesn’t like to sing or dance!

“The least excited about it was… Cole,” KJ said (while laughing, of course) to Bustle, “Definitely Cole. That’s probably the reason why he is not involved in the musical.”

Lili Reinhart backed up KJ’s claiming, revealed as she smirked, “Cole refuses to sing or dance. He immediately was horrified. But he’s not involved in the singing or dancing parts.”

Kevin and Joaquin’s first kiss was literally anything but romantic.

“So I get this cool new job called Riverdale. They tell me I get to be this beautiful character named Joaquin who has a love interest with their lead, Casey [Cott]. And I’m like this guy’s cool, we meet. Then comes the kiss scene. This is going to be fun,” Rob explained to Seventeen. “We eat so much tuna before the scene and go hard in for the kiss — we ended up getting it in two takes, I think it looks pretty good — but it was like a bonding moment like, ‘Hey I’m Rob and I can taste your tuna.’”

LOL, bet this was one kiss they’ll both never forget!
