There’s been one question on everyone’s minds this week, and that is — is Selena Gomez single? The singer was just spotted hanging out with her ex-boyfriend Samuel Krost, and now, the “Bad Liar” songstress is setting the record straight! Taking to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, October 30, the 27-year-old addressed the speculation once and for all.
“I am not dating anyone,” she wrote. “I’ve been single for two years. I’m on God’s timing, not mine.”
Selena and Samuel (who’s an NYU student), were both photographed entering and exiting the restaurant La Esquina in New York City on Tuesday, October 29. As fans know, the former flames were first spotted holding hands and cuddling up in late 2015. The even went on a vacation to Costa Rica together! Although they didn’t speak out about the relationship while they were together, Samuel opened up about their time together after the split.
“Selena is a real girl with a real heart and real feelings,” he wrote on Instagram in a now-deleted post. “All you superficial [people] who are just unhappy with your love lives, understand that love is real. Although we have ventured on separate paths, at least I know that love exists. I love you, Sel.”
The outing comes just days after the Wizards of Waverly Place actress revealed that she’s finally ready to start dating again.
“I’ve been super, super single for two years and I want to know what that love will look like next for me,” she admitted on the Zach Sang Show. “I want it to be real and I don’t want it to be codependent or messy or lack of communication. When you get older you find people who are actually right for you, that are actually on the same wavelength.”
Although she’s fully prepared to enter into a relationship again, the former Disney star isn’t in a rush.
“I’m chillin right now, you guys,” she added. “Honestly [dating] is so stressful so I’ve been having way too much fun being on my own. It sucked for the first year, I was like, ‘I just wanna cuddle, I just wanna watch something and be adored.’ Now it feels good. Now it feels awesome.”
