Shawn Mendes and Teddy Geiger just released a song together, and it’s a total jam. The singers collaborated on a glorious cover of Queen’s 1981 hit “Under Pressure.” The Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody is being released next month – and their tune honors the late Freddie Mercury in a special way. Portions of the profits from Shawn and Teddy’s cover song will be donated to Mercury Phoenix Trust. After Freddie Mercury passed away, the organization was founded by Queen’s Brian May, Roger Taylor, and their manager Jim Beach to help fight AIDS worldwide.

“I am so honored to be able to support the amazing legacy of Freddie and Queen by doing a cover of one of my favorite songs, ‘Under Pressure,'” Shawn said. “It was so exciting to me to be able to do this with my close collaborator and one of my best friends, Teddy Geiger, for a cause that is very close to our hearts.”

Shawn shared on Twitter, “Did this cover of @QueenWillRock ‘Under Pressure’ for the Bohemian Rhapsody film with @teddygeiger, to honor Freddie, and for a cause really close to our hearts, to benefit the Mercury Phoenix Trust in the fight against HIV / AIDS. Hope you love it x.”

Teddy also took to social media to share the exciting news.

“Made dis @officialqueenmusic cover with my friends @shawnmendes, @evanvoytasand @danromer for the Bohemian Rhapsody film!!! So honored Shawn asked me to sing with him,” the 30-year-old musician shared.

Teddy is Shawn’s lontime collaborater, and the singer-songwriter and producer is the genuis behind hits like “Mercy,” “Stitches,” and “Treat You Better.” Shawn was also super supportive of Teddy while she went through her transition and came out as transgender. The 20-year-old singer opened up to Beats 1 about the first time Teddy heard Shawn refer to her as “she.” It happened nonchalantly in the studio, and Shawn said there was nothing but pure joy on her face.

“I wish everyone could experience this, because if they did, there would be no questions,” Shawn said. “There would be no ‘I don’t get it,’ no confusion about the process.”

Now, we’ll just be here listening to the song on repeat!
