It’s official, Shay Mitchell is a mom! The Pretty Little Liars star welcomed a baby girl with her boyfriend, Matte Babel, on October 20, 2019, and fans could not be more excited for her.
Now, the actress has shared some details on her delivery, and it turns out, she was in labor for a whopping 33 hours! She documented the entire thing, including the moment her daughter was born, the hours leading up to it and her reaction. She uploaded the touching footage in a new YouTube video, called “My Labor and Delivery.”
The video started with Shay realizing her water had broken. She then got into the car and headed to the hospital. The 33-hour process was definitely long and painful, but Shay powered through it.
As soon as her daughter was born, the brunette beauty immediately started to cry as you could hear her say, “It’s so crazy.”
“The past nine months has been more than I ever imagined. Pregnancy has been one of the most exciting, challenging and physically demanding things I’ve ever done,” Shay captioned the vid. “It’s brought a new meaning to family and my partnership with Matte — I’ve watch my daughter develop and grow and now I’m READY to meet her!”
For those who forgot, the You star first announced she was expecting her first child on June 28, 2019. On July 5, she revealed that it’s going to be a girl! She hasn’t shared the newborn’s name just yet, but she did post an adorable snap of the baby’s hand to her Instagram account. We can’t wait to get some more details!
“If I thought being pregnant was a journey, I’m realizing we have just begun,” she said in the video, adding, “I was 99 percent excited to meet her, and 1 percent excited to eat something.”
