Get ready, you guys, because Cole Sprouse is about to star in what’s sure to be the most heart-wrenching flick since The Fault in Our Stars.
That’s right! A new trailer for Five Feet Apart has officially arrived, and once you see the 26-year-old Riverdale star’s chemistry with his new on-screen love interest, played by 23-year-old Haley Lu Richardson, you might just start shipping a couple that isn’t Sprousehart! Shocking, right?
So, what’s the movie about? We’re so glad you asked! The romance flick, which hits theaters in March, shares the story of two patients with Cystic Fibrosis, Stella and Will. Unfortunately, when the two meet in the hospital, they’re required to stay at least six feet apart from one another at all times. But, of course, their restraint is put the test when the two begin to fall for each other.
After agreeing to do their treatments together, Stella and Will continue to grow closer. So close, in fact, that the nurses at the hospital have to continuously warn them of the dangers of being too close to one another. Inevitably, the distance between them causes them a lot of frustration, which ultimately leads to Stella deciding to steel one foot back after everything that her disease has stolen from her already.
While it’s unclear how the film ends, we do know that Stella and Will eventually leave the hospital. What we don’t know, however, is if the star-crossed lovers will ever be able to get closer than five feet apart. Sadly, there’s no cure for Cystic Fibrosis as of yet, but there are treatments available to ease symptoms, so perhaps the treatments have allowed for them to get closer than they ever thought possible? Honestly, this is all just speculation at this point, but get your tissues ready. The movie is guaranteed to be an emotional one, and TBH, we can’t wait.
