Prepare yourselves, people, because the Zoey 101 reunion is almost here! For those who forgot, back in November 2019, it was announced that Jamie Lynn Spears, Paul Butcher, Sean Flynn, Christopher Massey, Kristin Herrera, Erin Sanders and Matthew Underwood were set to reprise their roles for an upcoming All That sketch called “Thelma Stump,” and your first look has finally arrived!
Mark your calendars and set your alarms, guys, because the gang is finally getting back together on Saturday, July 11 at 9:00 P.M., and from the looks of it, this sketch is going to be seriously hilarious.
Years after she debuted the iconic sketch on All That, Jamie is reprising her role as the elderly bodyguard Thelma Stump. This time, however, she’s refusing to let the Pacific Coast Academy alumni backstage at the show. Naturally, Jamie goes up against herself and attempts to save the day. We seriously can’t wait to see how this plays out in the end!
But don’t worry, guys, because this might not be the last time you see all the PCA kids together again. Yep, back in May, Jamie herself confirmed that she and Nickelodeon have been “having conversations” about a full “more mature” Zoey 101 reboot. Now this is something we can get on board with!
“Everything and anything is on the table, whether that’s a movie or a series. In all of the discussions I’ve had with Nickelodeon — which are in baby stages, by the way — the main thing is figuring out the right home for the reboot. We couldn’t do it justice by putting it back on Nickelodeon, because our fanbase has grown into young adults like me,” she told The Hollywood Reporter at the time. “We want to tell stories about where the characters are now. We want to connect with the fans and touch on topics that are impacting millennials, so it would have to be aged up and be more mature.”
For those who forgot, Zoey 101 aired from January 2005 to May 2008, and it was a serious fan favorite. Only time will tell if these characters will grace our TV screens again in the near future!
