Ever since they announced their indefinite hiatus in 2015, fans have been left wondering why One Direction split. Now, Liam Payne has given some insight on what really went wrong and cause them to go their separate ways.

“We all just got on with it, you know, it was just a case of this is your job and this is what you do and then you just slowly spiraled into this thing,” the 26-year-old singer explained. “I mean, more than anything for us, I think the danger zone is in the band. And actually what probably caused the demise of it, towards the end, was just the tiredness more than anything. Everyone makes stupid decisions when they’re tired.”

For those who missed it, the “Strip That Down” crooner’s admission comes just days after he revealed that he and the other guys — Louis TomlinsonNiall Horan and Harry Styles  — were planning something special for their upcoming 10th anniversary.

“We’ve got a 10-year anniversary coming up so we’ve all been speaking together a lot over the last few weeks which has been really nice,” he told The Sun. “At the moment I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say. There’s a number of different things that we are all working on to try and make happen and people are forwarding emails around. But more than anything it’s just been a real good time for us to connect together again.”

Then, the internet went into a major frenzy when all the guys seemingly refollowed Zayn Malik on Twitter days later! OMG. Sources told Page Six that the guys are considering everything from a TV special to a new single, but a tour has been ruled out.

“There’s still a long way to go and a lot of hurdles,” the insider dished. “Obviously, at the moment anything they do would have to be done virtually. But there’s a lot of goodwill between them now and they want to make something happen.”
