Zayn Malik fans have been waiting a long time to see him perform live on tour. After years of being open about how his anxiety has prevented him from taking the stage, the singer just dropped the major news that he finally feels ready — and we’re totally freaking out!
“I [cannot] wait to get on stage,” Zayn wrote on Twitter on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019. “Mans got tunes that bang for days! Haha feelin’ ready.” SCREAMING.
This is big news for us Zayn stans since as J-14 readers know, the 25-year-old has canceled numerous concerts due to his anxiety. Back in June of 2018 for example, the former One Direction member pulled out of his performance at Capital FM’s Summertime Ball, just hours before he was set to take the stage.
“Unfortunately, my anxiety that has haunted me throughout the last few months around live performances has gotten the better of me,” the “Pillowtalk” singer wrote in an apology at the time. “With the magnitude of the event, I have suffered the worst anxiety of my career.”

“I cannot apologize enough,” he continued. “I know those who suffer anxiety will understand and I hope those who don’t can empathize with my situation.”
Then, just three months later, the singer canceled another show. This time, it was supposed to take place in Dubai. “I’ve been working over the last three months to overcome my extreme anxiety around major live solo performances,” he said. “I feel I am making progress but I have today acknowledged that I do not feel sufficiently confident to move forward with the planned show in Dubai in October.”
So yeah, we’ve all definitely been waiting a long time for this moment, so naturally, Twitter has gone wild. “We’ve been waiting so long for a tour from you my coins are ready whenever you are,” one fan wrote, and it’s honestly a mood. LOL. Another added, “I’m so proud of you Zayn, we stan a king.”
