Ariana Grande is letting the world know that Mac Miller will always be in her heart. The 25-year-old songstress took to her Instagram Story to pay a sweet tribute to her ex-boyfriend, who suddenly passed away from an alleged drug overdose in September. And while she wasn’t physically at his memorial concert, it’s clear he was on her mind.

The “Breathin'” singer shared a black and white selfie where we can’t see her face, but we do see she’s cuddled up with her pup Myron — who was actually Mac’s dog — and wearing a very important hoodie. The white sweatshirt says “I’m not a rapper” and is actually one Mac himself wore.

On Halloween, many of Mac’s family, friends, and fans gathered in Los Angeles for Mac Miller: A Celebration Of Life, where artists like John Mayer, Travis Scott, SZA, and Chance the Rapper performed Mac’s songs and spoke about their personal memories of the late musician. Proceeds from the ticket sales will all go to the Mac Miller Circles Fund, which will provide “programming, resources, and opportunities to youth from underserved communities, helping them recognize their full potential through exploration in the arts and community building.” While fans had hoped Ariana would make an appearance at the concert, it seems like she decided it was better for her to pay tribute in her own way.

Although Mac and Ariana were no longer a couple at the time of his death and she was then engaged to 24-year-old comedian Pete Davidson, it was clear they both still had respect and love for each other, as they had been friends for years before they dated. Since Mac’s sudden passing, Ariana has taken some time off, although she is back in the studio, no doubt channeling all her emotions into music. She has since called off her engagement to Pete and started covering up tattoos they got together, but overall, she’s been laying low, spending time with her family, friends, and pets, and gearing up to head out on her upcoming world tour. Ari has posted a few tributes to Mac on Instagram in the last few weeks though, letting us know that she truly will never forget him.
