It appears Ariana Grande is not letting her past define her. The “God Is a Woman” songstress has been through a lot in the past few months. She released her fourth studio album, Sweetener, got engaged to comedian Pete Davidson, called it off, and started raising a pet pig. And in the midst of this whirlwind, she has been coping with the tragic death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller, who passed from a dangerous drug overdose.

Ariana has been growing her tattoo collection throughout all of this, and it has been reported that five were dedicated to her 24-year-old former fiancé. Now, she is getting rid of those reminders, written in permanent ink, by covering up those particular designs. In a recent post on Ariana’s Instagram Stories, fans noticed that the 25-year-old star had changed the tattoo she got back in June with Pete. The design on her hand formally read, “Reborn.” She got it reworked into a gorgeous, intricate feather design. And tbh, you would never know what it used to be if you didn’t already know, if we do say so ourselves. Check it out.

Despite the fact that her latest album Sweetener only came out in August 2018, her recent life events have inspired her to create even more music. In fact, Ariana teased that another album might be coming sooner than anyone had expected. “how u think i survived these 2/3 months,” she recently tweeted, after a fan asked her how she managed to make another album in a matter of a few months.

So, yes, Ari sure has been through a lot — but she is proving in more ways than one that she is moving forward.
