It’s here! Ariana Grande‘s “7 Rings” music video is finally out! After a long and torturous wait, the singer finally dropped her new single on Friday, January 18, 2019, — and it’s even better than we imagined. Like her last hit “Thank U, Next,” the song is all about female empowerment, and we are seriously loving it.
As J-14 readers know, the inspiration for the song came from an impromptu shopping trip with her gal pals. “Me and my friends went to Tiffany’s together, just because we needed some retail therapy,” the “God Is A Woman” singer explained to Billboard Magazine. “You know how when you’re waiting at Tiffany’s they give you lots of champagne? They got us very tipsy, so we bought seven engagement rings, and when I got back to the studio I gave everybody a friendship ring. That’s why we have these, and that’s where the song idea came from.”
The music video focuses on the 25-year-old living her best live with her six besties as she sings about her favorite things, but there are actually a ton of little details that she threw in that you totally may have missed.
