The singer allegedly liked a post on the social media site that seemed to call Louis Tomlinson ugly. The photo showed stills of Louis and his former bandmate Zayn Malik wearing the same clothes from the group’s “You and I” music video, with the caption, “When you move and the Snapchat filter comes off.”
After the “Bad Guy” songstress hit the like button on the shady photo, fans started slamming and “canceling” her online, and they even got #BillieEilishIsOverParty to trend on Twitter.
“Louis deserves better,” one fan wrote, with another adding, “If you think Louis is ugly that’s fine it’s y’all opinions and I respect that but the meme, it’s more like bullying … I like Billie’s songs, I appreciate her talents but that meme is not OK.”
Some fans, on the other hand, were quick to defend the pop star.
“Bruh y’all rly tryna cancel an 18-year-old because she liked a genuinely funny meme about Zayn and Louis, bruh I bet they both laughed at it,” another fan tweeted.
“I’m so sick of this cancel culture s**t oh my God. Anyways, stan Louis Tomlinson AND Billie Eilish,” a fourth Twitter user wrote.
When a fan asked the “Gucci Flip Flops” songstress — whose real name is Danielle Bregoli — during an Instagram Live if the two stars were still friends, she responded, “I think I’m friends with her. I don’t know if Billie is my friend. Every time I DM her and give my number she just doesn’t text me, so I don’t know. I guess that’s what happens when b***hes get famous. It be like that.”
