Prepare yourselves, you guys, because one of our favorite OG Disney actresses is returning to the epic network. That’s right, we’re talking about The Suite Life of Zack & Cody star Brenda Song! According to Deadline, the brunette beauty that we all know and love as London Tipton was just cast in a new Disney Channel show, and it’s seriously a dream come true.
So get this — Brenda will voice 13-year-old Anne Boonchuy in a new animated comedy series called Amphibia. And you may want to mark your calendars because it’s premiering this summer! The outlet reports that Anne is “an independent and fearless teen magically transported to the fantastical world of Amphibia, a rural marshland full of frog-people.”
Wow, how epic does that sound? To be honest, there’s not a day that goes by that we don’t miss The Suite Life, so seeing (well, hearing, actually) Brenda on the network again is going to be pretty amazing (and nostalgic!). As fans know, the show ended in 2008, and it’s spinoff series, The Suite Life on Deck, aired it’s last episode in 2011 – and it was definitely a sad time.
But Brenda didn’t slow down after that. She went on to star in a ton of TV shows like Scandal, New Girl, Dads, Pure Genius, Station 19 and more! Plus, she’s about to star in a new web series called Dollface.
And Amphibia isn’t the only new show that Disney’s got up their sleeves. The company recently announced that they’re making a new High School Musical spinoff series, which will be available on their streaming service, Disney+, later this year. Not to mention that they’ve got the live-action remakes of Aladdin, The Lion King and Dumbo hitting theaters in 2019. Plus, they recently released the trailers for Toy Story 4 and Frozen 2. Wow, it’s definitely going to be a big year for us Disney fans!
