The world is mourning the loss of Disney Channel actor Cameron Boyce. The Descendants and Jessie actor tragically passed away at the age of 20 on July 6. Ever since the sad news hit the web, fans and friends have been sending so many kind words to Cameron’s family and closest loved ones — including his roommates, Karan Brar and Sophie Reynolds. Both Karan and Sophie broke their silence on Tuesday, July 9, each posting tributes for Cameron at the same time.
Sophie posted a heartwarming photo of herself and Cameron hugging, overlooking a lake. The 20-year-old actress’ caption reads, “my family. my person. my heart. maybe someday I’ll be able to put everything cam was into words, but right now it just hurts a little too much. Please, hug everyone you love. I wish I could.”
Karan, Cameron’s on-screen brother from Jessie, posted a sweet shot of his friend smiling on the beach.
The 20-year-old Disney Channel alum wrote, “you were the greatest thing to have ever happened to me. i love you so much cam. wish i had more to say right now but i don’t think words will come for a while. thank you to everyone who sent such kind words my way. know i haven’t been responding but it truly means a lot.”
The three friends, who all starred on Disney Channel, had just moved in together in May.
On July 7, a spokesperson for the family confirmed the tragic news to Us Weekly — revealing that Cameron passed due to an ongoing medical issue.
“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him,” they said.
Cameron made a lasting impression on us all, and we’re sending Karan and Sophie all our love.
