Victor’s heartfelt statement came hours after a spokesperson for the family confirmed the tragic news to Us Weekly.
“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him,” they said.
Disney Channel said in a statement on July 7, “From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world. As a young man, he was fueled by a strong desire to make a difference in peoples’ lives through his humanitarian work. He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend. We offer our deepest condolences to his family, cast mates and colleagues and join his many millions of fans in grieving his untimely passing. He will be dearly missed.”
The star was best known for his roles in Disney Channel’s Descendants franchise and children’s TV series Jessie. Back in May, the actor had just moved into an apartment with two of his best friends and former costars — Jessie castmate Karan Brar and Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything castmate Sophie Reynolds.
Cameron was set to star in HBO’s new series Mrs. Fletcher and the TV spinoff of the film American Satan, called Paradise City. Descendants 3 is set to premiere on Disney Channel on August 2.
Over 100 of Cameron’s celebrity friends and former costars posted heartfelt tributes after his sad passing. He made such a lasting impression on all of us, and he will never be forgotten.
