Actor Cameron Boyce tragically passed away on July 6 at the age of 20. Now, his father, Victor Boyce, is paying tribute by sharing a photo of his son taken hours before his untimely death.
“My son. Just hours before he was snatched from our lives. I miss him terribly. I hope that no one ever has to feel the agony I’m feeling but no one is immune to tragedy. The outpouring of love and support our family continues to receive is so beautiful and appreciated. Thank you all for helping us through our worst possible situation,” the Disney Channel star’s dad wrote.
Cameron’s Descendants costar and friend Dove Cameron took to the comments section of Victor’s post to show her love and support.
The 23-year-old actress wrote, “i love you and your whole family so much and forever. there was life before this, and now life after this. my thoughts have not left you and they will stay with you.”
Descendants director and choreographer Kenny Ortega also left a sweet message. “Hey Victor, Cameron is our Forever Boy. We will carry his goodness forward with us every day of our lives. Look up, he is there! You are not alone,” the 69-year-old mentor wrote.
A family spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday that epilepsy was a factor in Cameron’s passing.
“Cameron’s tragic passing was due to a seizure as a result of an ongoing medical condition, and that condition was epilepsy,” a spokesperson for his family confirmed to E! News. “We are still trying to navigate our way through this extremely heart-wrenching time, and continue to ask for privacy so that the family and all who knew and loved him can grieve his loss and make arrangements for his funeral — which, in and of itself, is agonizing.”
