Get ready music lovers because Demi Lovato and Sam Smith might be working on a song together! Yep, that’s right, fans are convinced that two of Hollywood’s biggest singers are about to drop a major collaboration.

Speculation started after Sam announced via Twitter that their third studio album To Die For was set to be released on May 1, 2020. Along with the news about their brand new record, the British crooner also teamed up with YouTube and opened a pop-up wig shop to promote the album and title track “To Die For,” which dropped on Friday, February 14.

Not only did the shop feature many Instagram opportunities, but mannequins with different hairstyles were posed and placed throughout the store. Fans took notice of one mannequin in particular. It was sporting long dark hair and a name tag that read “Demi Lovato.” Naturally, some people totally freaked out and assumed that meant that the “Anyone” singer would be featured on their upcoming album.

Fans immediately took to social media and expressed excitement over the possibility.

“If the rumors are correct about [Sam Smith] & [Demi Lovato] collaborating then I’m going to cry. I’ve been waiting for this for over 5 years,” one person wrote on Twitter. Someone else seemingly foreshadowed what will happen if the artists dropped a song together and said, “When Sam Smith and Demi Lovato’s collab becomes a single and they get nominated for a Grammy as Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.”

Another fan account posted a photo of the songwriting credits from Sam’s upcoming album, as listed on iTunes, and Demi was named as one of the writers on a still untitled track.
