Gearing up to stream more shows! September 2022 has tons of new releases for both Disney+ and Hulu, including original movies and TV series.
Disney+, for one, is gearing up to drop the highly anticipated Hocus Pocus sequel later on in the month. This time around, Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy are back as Winifred, Sarah and Mary Sanderson, respectively.
“It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge,” the movie’s official longline reads. “Now, it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.”
Whitney Peak, Lilia Buckingham and Belissa Escobedo play the three teens who bring the witches back to life while Sam Richardson is joining the cast as Gilbert, the owner of a magic shop.
“I’m an absolute super fan of the original,” Sam told Entertainment Tonight in January of the sequel. “I grew up watching that movie. Being in [the sequel] is so surreal and incredible.”
He added, “To work with the ladies is so … I don’t want to use the word surreal again but I’m outside of myself when I’m doing these scenes. I’m like, ‘This is them!’ They are the characters.”
Over on Hulu, Charli and Dixie D’Amelio are back for The D’Amelio Show season 2.
“We have all grown so much since season 1, and I’m excited for viewers to see that,” Charli told J-14 exclusively in January. “We are still in the process of filming season 2 so all I will say is that, this season, we are focusing on having fun and showing more of who we are as a family and individuals.”
The influencer added, “It’s definitely hard to be that vulnerable on camera so I was really touched to see all of the sweet positive messages from people.”
