Some social media users have taken a stand against Dua Lipa haters. After the 2020 Grammy Awards on Sunday, January 26, the “Don’t Start Now” songstress shared multiple videos to her Instagram Stories of her attending an after-party with Lizzo, Lil Nas X and Rosalía hosted at a strip club. After they watched the clips, some people took to Twitter and slammed the 24-year-old. Now, Dua Lipa’s biggest fans aren’t letting the internet trolls get away with “cancelling” her online.

Those upset over the singer’s night out claimed that she was “exploiting women” and being “anti-feminist.” Some Twitter users even attempted to trend #dualipaisoverparty, in the hopes of “cancelling” her.

However, Dua Lipa’s supporters clapped back at the haters.

“How are you going to cancel Dua Lipa for supporting women?? You can’t call yourself a ‘feminist’ when you’re against consenting women preforming sex work. They have the right to be respected like people are in any other line of work,” one Twitter user wrote alongside a screen-recorded video from her series of Instagram Stories.

Another person added, “Y’all are actually trying to cancel Dua Lipa because she went to a strip club but you swear you’re a feminist. Just say you hate sex workers and go.”

A third fan said, “Wait so women aren’t allowed to go to strip clubs now? I [swear to God] y’all don’t even know how toxic this cancel culture is getting. Y’all got nerve to cancel Dua Lipa for going to a strip club mean while there are men in the same industry that do this on a daily basis.”

One Dua Lipa fan even used a Taylor Swift lyric to prove their point.

“Taylor didn’t lie when she said ‘if I was out flashing my dollars I’d be a b***h not a baller’,” they wrote, referring to a line from Taylor’s song “The Man,” which is all about the sexism and double standards in the music industry.

Dua Lipa seemed to be unbothered by the criticisms. She has yet to respond on social media.
