Dynamic singing duo Chloe x Halle — comprised of Chloe and Halle Bailey — proved that there’s nothing stronger than a sisterly bond. Halle opened up, in their new Cosmopolitan cover story, about how her sister’s support helped her feel confident that she could play Ariel in the upcoming live-action version of The Little Mermaid

“Whenever we’re apart, I feel like my right arm is missing,” the 20-year-old gushed about her sister in the mag. “I say this all the time: I’m not sure what I would do if I was by myself going through this whole thing.”

Throughout the interview, the girls also revealed that Chloe moved to the UK to be alongside her sister for the film’s shoot — which was put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Halle added, “Whenever individual opportunities come, it’s exciting because when one of us wins, the other one does too.”

As fans know, back in July 2019, Disney announced that Halle nabbed the role of Ariel in the live-action remake.

“After an extensive search, it was abundantly clear that Halle possesses that rare combination of spirit, heart, youth, innocence, and substance — plus a glorious singing voice — all intrinsic qualities necessary to play this iconic role,” director Rob Marshall said in a statement at the time. In a Twitter post, Halle wrote, “Dream come true.”

Months later, in November 2019, Deadline reported that Jonah Hauer-King was cast alongside the songstress as the handsome Prince Eric.

Previously, Halle also opened up to Entertainment Tonight about being cast as the iconic mermaid and said she was “very excited and happy” about the role.

“It means so much to me. I feel very honored and really grateful for the opportunity,” the Grown-ish star gushed in August 2019. “Ariel was one of my favorite princesses growing up so it’s a dream come true.”
