Is this the end for Jack & Jack? Fans of the dynamic music duo are seriously concerned for the group’s future after Jack Gilinsky announced the release of his debut solo single.
For those who forgot, the musical duo, made up of Jack G and Jack Johnson, first rose to fame after being a part of the popular social media squad Magcon. Since they were formed back in 2013, it seemed like the two had been taking the music industry by storm. Over the years, Jack & Jack have released two EPs and one full length album together, but now, one of the members has decided to branch off from their other half and release some songs on his own. Yep, on Tuesday, April 15, Jack G took to Instagram and revealed that his debut single, “My Love,” is set to drop on Friday, April 17.
“This is a moment I’ve been waiting to share with you for a very long time,” he captioned a pic of the tune’s cover art. “I can’t wait to share more of the story [and] our journey this Thursday night before it’s out.”
Naturally, his 6.1 million followers were super excited to hear the type of music that Jack has in store, but some were concerned about what it meant for his band. Thankfully, Jack J came to the rescue and set the record straight about the future of Jack & Jack once and for all. The influencer took to Twitter and quote tweeted a clip that a fan had posted, which showed the duo explaining that Jack G and Jack J are “friends before work.” So, yes, they might release some solo music, but they’ll always have each other’s backs. Whew, that was a close one!
“Don’t trip, guys, this has been a long time coming and we felt the time was now!” Jack J wrote alongside the video. He then added, “I got something right around the corner for [you] too, trust.”
Looks like Jack G isn’t the only one with a music release up his sleeve! We can’t wait to hear what they both have in store!
