After weeks of back and forth, James Charles‘ rumored fling Gage Gomez is finally spilling the tea on what really happened between him and the YouTuber, and boy, is it intense. In a new tell-all YouTube video, uploaded on April 29, 2019, Gage claims that James knew he was straight all along and pursued him anyway.
“James saw this as an opportunity to manipulate me as a person who may or may not have been trying to figure things out about their sexuality, after the fact that I told him I was straight multiple times,” he explained. “Because as you all know, this person, 99.9 maybe 100 percent of the time goes after heterosexual men.”
In case you missed it, the internet basically lost it after the two were spotted cozying up at Coachella. But when the makeup mogul sent out a series of cryptic tweets, calling Gage a “disgusting con artist,” everyone was pretty confused.
“He’s not stupid, he’s not an idiot, he knows he’s going after straight boys. And he just continues to lead himself on,” Gage continued. “He was aware about how I felt about him. He constantly kept telling me while we were hanging out at Coachella that he appreciated that I was always 100 percent honest with him. If I was ever a little vague, I was never telling him what he wanted to hear and I was never lying to him. It was just always how I felt at the time and he knew that. So he was aware about how I felt about him and he still pursued this action.”
Although Gage did say that he had an “awesome” time with the beauty guru at Coachella, he alleged that James tried to pressure him into doing things he wasn’t comfortable with.
“There were some parts where I guess he was not sure how I was feeling, even though I was telling him the whole time I wasn’t into, I guess you could say, experimenting at that time,” he revealed. “He proceeded to get extremely upset with me because of that and kind of tried to play his emotions and push [them] onto me to kind of guilt me into trying something that I didn’t want to do.”
“I was blocked and unblocked multiple times because I wouldn’t reply to his Snapchat right away. Or I wouldn’t respond to his DM right away. Or I wouldn’t pick up a FaceTime call,” he added. “What’s interesting is that these influences are chasing clout all the time. They’re all loud when it’s drama, but only when it’s amongst themselves because it generates the views and the engagement, but when it comes to someone like me — a normal person who isn’t an influencer or public figure or anything like that — they couldn’t be truthful.”
Ouch. We honestly don’t know what to believe anymore.
