Everyone was pretty worried about Kylie Jenner after news hit the web that she was hospitalized due to “flu-like symptoms” last year. Now, the reality star has opened up about what was really wrong with her, and it turns out, she didn’t have the flu after all.

“For those wondering, I never had flu-like symptoms! I had a horrible strep [throat] and staph infection in the throat (bleeding from the mouth and all) it was the sickest I’ve ever been,” the makeup mogul commented on Instagram.

Wow, how scary is that?! We’re so glad she’s OK! For those who missed it, the 22-year-old was so sick at the time that she was forced to cancel her appearances during Paris Fashion Week.

“Hi guys! So as you know, I was getting ready to go to Paris for the Balmain show at Paris Fashion Week for the launch of my makeup collab with Olivier [Rousteing],” she wrote in a statement at the time. “Unfortunately I’m really sick and unable to travel. I’m heartbroken to be missing this show, but I know that my amazing team, and my friends who are in town for the event, will help me be there in spirit.”

According to WebMD, staph infections are caused by a bacteria buildup and can cause boils, oozing blisters, nausea, vomiting and stomach ache. Strep throat is an infection that causes sore throat, fever and swollen lymph nodes. Both are treated with antibiotics.

For those who missed it, Kylie’s admission comes just days after she donated $1 million to coronavirus relief efforts. The doctor who delivered her daughter, Stormi Webster, took to Instagram and thanked the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star for her generosity.

“From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU @kyliejenner,” he wrote on Instagram. “You are my hero. This generous donation will help save many precious lives. Our world is a better place with you in it.”

The money will be used to buy face masks, face shields and protective gear for medical professionals.
