This is a match made in musical heaven! On Friday, December 13, Justin Bieber and Kylie Jenner took the internet by surprise when they teamed up to perform an epic duet of the makeup mogul’s hit song, “Rise and Shine.”
It all happened this past weekend during a charity art auction hosted by Justin and his wife, Hailey Baldwin, which benefitted LIFT Los Angeles and Inner-City Arts. The 26-year-old was set to perform at the event, but totally shocked attendees when he brought Kylie up to the microphone. First, Justin showed off his impressive vocals and gave his own rendition of the song. Then, he pleaded for the 22-year-old mom of one to sing her famous tune and she gave a show-stopping performance.
From the look of it, Justin couldn’t get enough of the performance. At the end of the video, which made its rounds on social media, the singer could be seen jumping with excitement on the back of his BFF Jaden Smith.
For those who missed it, “Rise and Shine” first rose to popularity after the reality star uploaded a YouTube video giving fans a tour of her Kylie Cosmetics office. When she went to wake up her daughter, Stormi Webster, Kylie she sang the words “rise and shine.” It quickly took the internet by storm with fans creating hilarious memes of the song.
Kylie quickly decided to monetize off the viral moment and filed a trademark request for the phrases “rise and shine” and “riiise and shiiinnee.” The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star also released merchandise that featured the iconic phrase on both black and white sweatshirts. She also set a major record on TikTok after the meme, received over a billion views under the hashtag #RiseandShine just a few days after the video was originally posted to YouTube.
