Before she became Netflix’s biggest movie star, Lana Condor auditioned for another streaming service’s show! The To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before actress just revealed that she tried out for a role on Disney+’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and fans are shook.

“I was seeing some things on Instagram, but I was like, I think I honest to God, might have auditioned for that,” Lana told Teen Vogue in an interview released on Wednesday, January 15. “I don’t think it was Disney+ when I shot for it, I think it was just Disney.”

She also took a walk down memory lane and looked back on her audition for the fan-favorite Disney+ series.

“They didn’t want us to sing High School Musical songs, which I’m sure everyone was like, okay I’ll go in and sing ‘We’re All in This Together’ or whatever. So I don’t know what I did,” the 22-year-old told the publication. Her boyfriend Anthony De La Torre was quick to chime in and remind the actress that she sang Christina Perri‘s “A Thousand Years.”

Although she ultimately didn’t get the HSMTMTS role, Lana said the audition was still “an amazing memory.”

What made her want to try out for the spinoff show in the first place? Well, Lana was actually “the biggest High School Musical fan” as a child. She even called one of the franchise’s stars her acting idol.

“I looked up to Vanessa Hudgens since I was little because of High School Musical. She kind of looks like me and that’s the first person that I’ve ever really seen that looks like me that has a lead role in something. So I’ve always looked up to her,” Lana explained. “I looked up to Vanessa Hudgens when I was a kid and now there are girls, like me when I was little, that are probably looking up to me [as Lara Jean Covey]. [It’s] weird but I’m okay with it.”
