This may come as a shock, but Pretty Little Liars stars Ashley Benson and Lucy Hale actually met long before they were both cast in the show! Lucy just opened up about the adorable way that the former costars first got close, and it turned out, they were introduced through Big Time Rush‘s Kendall Schmidt on MySpace when they were only 15 years old!
“We met actually on MySpace. I was 15. We had mutual friends in common, I didn’t randomly find her,” the actress explained in a new interview with WIRED. “Kendall Schmidt, who was on Big Time Rush, this Nickelodeon show, he was the linking factor. I saw that he was friends with her and we kind of became friends through him. He thought we would get along, and he was right.”
OK, how epic is that?! Talk about a small world! When the 30-year-old and the Katy Keene star ended up working on the same show a few years later, it was seriously fate!
“We became Myspace friends, and then our first hang out was at Disneyland,” the actress continued. “We were like super, super tight when we were teenagers and then kind of lost touch. And then Pretty Little Liars brought us back together. But, we met on MySpace. It’s really weird, actually.”
As fans know, the ladies, along with their other costars — Troian Bellisario and Shay Mitchell — were total friendship goals on and off the screen during the time that show aired from June 2010 until June 2017. And want to know the best part? Even though the Freeform series ended more than two years ago, they’re still just as close! Just last week, for example, Ashley and Shay reunited and posted an epic TikTok video together, and it had fans of the show totally freaking out.

Plus, Ashley and Troian posted a photo together to their Instagram Stories a few hours later! They even FaceTimed Shay during their hangout session, and everyone’s hearts were bursting.
Yeah, it’s clear this cast has a bond that can never be broken!
