There’s been one major question on everyone’s mind ever since the CW announced that they were making another Riverdale spinoff series called Katy Keene. And that’s — will there be a crossover between the two shows?
Well guys, you might want to brace yourselves because the main star of the new show, Lucy Hale, just revealed that it’ll most likely happen! OMG. While speaking to Entertainment Tonight on Friday, May 17, she confirmed the exciting news.
“There’s probably going to be a crossover,” the former Pretty Little Liars actress confessed.
SCREAMING. We mean, both of the series share the same showrunner, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, are based off the same comic books and take place in the same universe, so it definitely seems likely. Not to mention that one of the main stars of Riverdale, Josie McCoy (played by Ashleigh Murray), is on the new show! That’s right, the talented lead singer of Josie and the Pussycats is saying goodbye to the small town, and hello to the big apple.
So will Josie’s former classmates pay her a visit? Well, Lucy added that unfortunately there’s a slight problem that may arise if there was a crossover. And that’s the fact that Katy Keene actually takes place five years after Riverdale! Ugh, they have to find a way to make this happen, please and thanks!
“The show is all about the ups and downs of life. It follows this group of friends who are trying to make their dreams come true,” the brunette beauty told ET. “It really is about the strong bond between these friends.”
Besides Lucy and Ashleigh, it also stars Katherine LaNasa, Sterling Knight, Zane Holtz, James Maslow, Julia Chan, Jonny Beauchamp, Camille Hyde, Lucien Laviscount and more! There’s unfortunately no release date yet, but we know it’s going to be epic.
