The CW has officially picked up Riverdale‘s spinoff series Katy Keene for the 2019-2020 season, and we couldn’t be more excited!
The story follows the journey of aspiring fashion designer Katy Keene (played by Lucy Hale), who meets aspiring musician Josie McCoy (played by Ashleigh Murray) in New York City. Yep, that’s right. The Riverdale singer is that we all know and love is officially saying goodbye to the small town and hello to the big city.
Also in the mix are socialite Pepper Smith (played by Julia Chan) and performer Jorge Lopez, who has a drag queen alter ego named Ginger (played by Jonny Beauchamp). Sounds riveting, doesn’t it? Not to mention that the network gave us an official first look at the series on Thursday, May 16, when they dropped a teaser — and boy, does it look good.
We seriously can’t wait for Katy Keene to become our new television obsession, but we do have a decent amount of time until it hits our screens. So in the meantime, let’s see who else is starring in the show — shall we?
