For those who missed it, on Friday, February 21, a source close to the family said that Gary was taken to a Los Angeles hospital after he was struck by a car while crossing the street on foot. At the time, a representative from the Los Angeles Police Department told Entertainment Tonight that the accident took place in the San Fernando Valley at Moorpark Street and Kraft Avenue. The rep also said that the driver who was involved stayed at the scene and spoke to police.

One day later, on Saturday, February 22, a source close to the family revealed that Gary is “in stable condition.”

Along with her initial Instagram Stories post, Meghan also shared two other images with her followers. First, she posted a snap of her and her dad at an event alongside a red heart emoji. Then she posted a photo holding Gary’s hand, seemingly taken in his hospital room.

As Meghan fans know, Gary is a huge part of the songstress’ life and her career.

In December 2018, during an interview with TODAY, the “Dear Future Husband” singer revealed that her dad’s constant advice is what kept her grounded during her whirlwind rise to fame.

“Anytime I complain about anything, [my dad’s] like, ‘Life will get better if you let it,'” she said. “Sometimes in life you can’t control what happens — most of the time you can’t control what happens, but you can control how you look at it and how you stay positive about it or find the good in it.”
