On Thursday, December 19, Miley Cyrus broke the internet. The 27-year-old made fun of her short-lived marriage to ex-husband Liam Hemsworth and fans are shook. It all started when LA-based artist Matty Mo — known as The Most Famous Artist on Instagram — told followers that he had plans to marry the Hannah Montana actress in 2020.
“Upping my manifestation game for 2020 and putting this out there,” he captioned a screenshot of his profile on the social media site, which read “Getting married to [Miley Cyrus] in 2020.”
Miley was quick to comment on the post and poked fun at her eight-month marriage by writing, “It probably won’t last long. But always down to try, You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.”
Naturally, fans went wild and speculated that the songstress is totally shading her ex. Others seemed to be proud of her for looking back at her past nuptials in a light-hearted way.
This came just after Radar Online reported that, according to documents, a hearing will take place on January 21, 2020, where the two stars are expected to work out the details to finalize their divorce. This will be the first time the exes will come face-to-face since they announced their separation, a source told the outlet.
As fans know, Liam filed for divorce from Miley back in August 2019.
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a rep told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Since then, both actors have seemed to move on and start new relationships. Miley has been dating Australian singer Cody Simpson since October and Liam has been spotted out with actress Maddison Brown and model Gabriella Brooks.
