When it comes to the Hemsworths, family is everything! On Thursday, November 21, Liam Hemsworth‘s sister-in-law, Elsa Pataky, totally stood up for her husband’s little brother when she talked about how he’s doing post break-up with Miley Cyrus.

“My brother-in-law, well, after a relationship that you’ve dedicated ten years to, he’s a little bit down, but he’s coping well, he’s a strong boy and he deserves the best, I think he deserves much better,” the 43-year-old told Hola! in a recent interview. “You always find support in your family, and he’s joined at the hip with [Chris Hemsworth], who has been there to give all the strength he needed.”

As fans know, Liam and Miley announced their separation back in August when the 29-year-old actor filed for divorce in in Los Angeles citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the breakup.

“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a rep told had Us Weekly in a statement. “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”

After the news of their heartbreaking split went public, Liam took to his social media on August 12, 2019 to confirm that the pair had gone their separate ways.

“Hi all. Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” he wrote. “This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.”

Since then, The Hunger Games star has seemed to officially move on from his ex. In early October, Liam was spotted out in New York City holding hands with actress Maddison Brown.
