There’s a brand new series inspired by the coronavirus pandemic coming to Netflix, and we’ve got all the deets. That’s right, the new show, called Social Distance, will tell “stories about the current moment we are living through” and explore “the experience of living in social distance,” a statement reads.

“Our job as storytellers is to reflect reality, and in this new, bizarre, bewildering reality we are all experiencing, we feel passionate about finding connection as we all remain at a distance,” the statement continues. “We’ve been inspired to create an anthology series that tells stories about the current moment we are living through — the unique, personal, deeply human stories that illustrate how we are living apart, together. The experience of social distancing is currently universal, but no individual story is the same. Through a broad spectrum of tales and moments, some seismic and some mundane, we hope to capture a moment in time. And we hope that Social Distance will help people feel closer to one another.”

The cast members — who haven’t been revealed just yet — will all film their parts from the comfort of their own homes. Diego Velasco is set to direct the new anthology show, while Orange Is the New Black creators Jenji Kohan, Tara Herrmann and Hilary Weisman Graham will serve as producers.

“We are challenging ourselves to do something new: To create and produce virtually so that our cast and crew can stay healthy and safe. Writers never meeting during the writing process,” the show’s producers continued. “Our director directs talent remotely. Our showrurnner runs production from her living room. The cast not only acts, but also films themselves at home.”

For those who missed it, over 3,200,000 people have contracted the coronavirus so far, resulting in more than 229,000 deaths. Medical professionals have called for “social distancing” to prevent further spreading of the illness, which is defined as “trying to keep yourself away from other people, especially large crowds.” Because of this many events, concerts, award shows, conventions and festivals have been canceled, including all Broadway plays and sports games. People are urged to stay indoors, avoid public places and isolate themselves during this time.
