Standing on stage facing empty seats, we realize how precious each moment with you was,” the BTS guys said in a recent video. “COVID-19 has shut down travel, and people are keeping their distance from each other. I think the hardest thing may be that we are feeling more and more isolated. But guys, we are connected closely, and we share both pain and joy. If we have the courage and will to overcome anything, I’m sure we’ll succeed with the power of our connection. These are times we need trust more than doubt, care more than anger. As citizens of Korea and of the world, BTS will face this challenge together with all of you. I hope soon we’ll again be able to see those we love, share a meal and talk together. I hope soon we’ll sing and be happy together with you.”

Loren revealed via Twitter that her young cousin was sick with the coronavirus.

“Just a reminder that this is not a joke. Think about your loved ones. Remember that even if you are young, you are at huge risk not just of contracting the virus but spreading it to those you care about. Got a call today that my cousin came down with a terrible illness, to which they narrowed down to be coronavirus,” she wrote. “My family said it’s the worst thing they’ve ever seen, and they’re surprised she’s even recovering. They couldn’t go into the room to help her. Only leave food outside the door and pray. This can happen to ANYONE. Be safe. Please. STAY AT HOME.”

So, I’ve been staying off of social media for mental health reasons, but, wanted to stop by to remind: with the COVID-19 virus impacting so many different groups of people more heavily than others (elderly who cannot leave their houses due to higher mortality risk, families who don’t get paid sick leave and can’t afford childcare when their children’s schools close, medical professionals, children who rely on school-provided food, homeless individuals) it is EVERYONE’S responsibility to stay home and participate in social distancing, even if you don’t feel at risk/feel you will be less affected,” the Descendants star wrote on Instagram. “Remember: you can be a carrier with hardly any symptoms. PLEASE help slow/stop the spread of this illness with discipline and empathy, and STAY HOME. The best way to stop the spread is to behave like you already have it.”

“I keep hearing from a surprising amount of people statements like, ‘This isn’t a big deal,’ [or], ‘We’ll be fine,’ [or], ‘We still have to go about our daily lives,’ and it’s really mind blowing. I understand if that is how you felt weeks ago but please read about what’s going on. Please don’t turn a blind eye,” she wrote. “It is incredibly dangerous and selfish to take the situation lightly. The ‘we will be fine because we’re young’ mindset is putting people who aren’t young and/or healthy in a lot of danger. You sound stupid and privileged and you need to care more about others. Like now.”

She also wrote, “‘Well some of us have to work!’ I understand and entirely support your frustration. I do not mean to disrespect anyone who doesn’t have the privilege of canceled work or being able to call out of their work, but, this is a national emergency and a pandemic of global proportion.”

The singer posted a video of people being quarantined in Italy, with the caption, “#BeatTheVirus You may have it and not know it… Don’t spread the disease. Stay home as much as you can. Do not go out in groups. No bars, no clubs, no restaurants. Wash your hands often, keep six feet apart. Isolate yourself if you feel sick. Now is the time to engage online and not in person. It is not just about you, it is about us… All of us… Love you guys, but if you care about your parents or your grandparents or any friend who could be compromised please stay in and be safe. Miley shared some old throwback clips from Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, and it brought on all the nostalgia.

“Be thoughtful, respectful, compassionate, human while preparing for social distancing…. NO ONE needs every soup in the store, the more we hoard the more expensive and sparse necessities will become, leaving many without essentials. This is a great time to practice restraint… it’s incredibly difficult to make smart decisions while panicking, but think twice before following the fear and being inconsiderate. There is enough to go around if we take care of one another. This is a beautiful time to LEAD!”

Lady Gaga posted a heartfelt message on Sunday, March 15.

“This is reminding I think a lot of us what it is to both feel like and be a human being. I think it’s so important to acknowledge that we are and must be a global kind singular community. We can’t do this without kindness,” she wrote. “Coronavirus is not prejudiced. My thought for the day is to accept there will be times we feel powerless and out of control — but we can fill that space with kindness and be a part of the solution to a world problem. We then have control. We can create healing by learning how to be kind and take care of each other and ourselves during this time.”

She added, “So I talked to some doctors and scientists. It’s not the easiest for everyone right now but the kindest/healthiest thing we can do is self-quarantine and not hang out with people over 65 and in large groups. I wish I could see my parents and grandmas right now but it’s much safer to not so I don’t get them sick in case I have it. I’m hanging at home with my dogs. I love you world, we’ll all get through this.”

Grayson let his followers know that he was thinking of them during the outbreak.

“I’m thinking about you guys. I know how stressful this week has been, but we will be alright. It will pass and we will all be blessed with a new appreciation for ‘normal’ life. Do your best to keep your hope strong and your attitude positive. Sending good energy to you all,” he wrote, adding in another tweet, “I woke up feeling really anxious and paranoid. My brain keeps spinning. We should try to stay calm and focus on ourselves and our loved ones at this time. Unfortunately finances and jobs are going to be negatively affected for EVERYONE. “In times like these, especially as young people, even if we are healthy, it’s important to practice compassion and help others that could be suffering. We are in this together, let’s not be indifferent to others risk. It’s our responsibility to do whatever it takes to keep everyone safe. Empathy to others’ reality and solidarity could make the difference in hard moments like this,” she wrote. “We can’t think that we will be unaffected because we feel young and healthy. We have parents, grandparents, friends and neighbors, and we don’t want to be a part of the problem when we could be part of the solution.”
