Sad news, you guys. YouTube power couple Tanya Burr and Jim Chapman have called it quits after three years of marriage and 12 years together in total. The each took to their respective social media pages to share the heartbreaking news with fans.
On March 12, the YouTube star turned actress made a statement about the split on Instagram Stories, saying, “Just wanted to let you all know that a few weeks ago Jim and I made the painful decision to no longer be together. We have a huge amount of love and respect for each other and will continue to remain friends forever. Thank you in advance for respecting our privacy at this difficult time.
Jim echoed those same sentiments in his own Instagram Stories, writing, “After twelve incredible years, Tan and I have decided to go our separate ways. We’re still absolutely the best of friends and have nothing but love and respect for each other. We will continue to support one another in all of our ventures and are both looking forward to what the future holds.”
Although fans didn’t see the breakup coming, the signs were all there. We mean, the last time she appeared on his Instagram feed was for his 31st birthday celebration back in December. Even then, though, the couple looked very much in love, with Jim captioning the adorable photo, “Excellent company for my 31st birthday.”
Tanya, on the other hand, hasn’t posted a photo with Jim on her page since last November, so it seems like things haven’t been great between the couple for a while. At this point, though, it’s still unclear when and why they broke up.
For fans of the famous YouTube couple, the news of their split is shocking — especially since they always seemed like a match made in heaven. The pair met in college and began dating back in 2007, eventually tying the knot in a private ceremony in 2015.
“I just think we wanted our wedding to be very intimate, very private,” Jim said. “We share so much of our lives, and we wanted a day where we could just turn everything off.”
Like you, we’re so sad about the split and we’re very interested to know more about what exactly caused them to go their separate ways. However, as fans of the YouTubers, it’s important that we respect their decision and give them some time to grieve their beautiful 12-year-long relationship — even if we’re struggling to accept it ourselves.
