Nickelodeon star JoJo Siwa is looking out for her fans during the coronavirus pandemic. The pop sensation just opened up about why it’s especially dangerous for her to go out during the outbreak, and she explained she has to stay inside to keep her supporters safe.

“I haven’t left the house — my parents have left to go to the store, or my brother will go to run a quick errand, just very essential stuff — but I haven’t left at all because the public, little kids, they can’t help but run right up and give me a big hug,” the “D.R.E.A.M.” songstress shared while speaking to Sirius XM. “I love that and want to give them all a big hug, but unfortunately at this time, that’s just not OK. So I’ve just been staying in. It’s not day 12 of being in my house. I have not left.”

The World Health Organization has reported that more than 540,000 people have contracted the coronavirus so far and has infected people in 192 countries — resulting in more than 24,000 deaths. Medical professionals have called for “social distancing” to prevent further spreading of the illness, which is defined as “trying to keep yourself away from other people, especially large crowds.” Because of this many events, concerts, award shows, conventions and festivals have been canceled, including all Broadway plays and sports games. People are urged to stay indoors and isolate themselves during this time.

But the 16-year-old Dance Moms star insisted that she was doing “really well” and that she wasn’t bored while she’s been quarantining!

“I’ve been working out a lot, I’ve been playing the piano a lot, I’ve been filming a lot of videos, I’ve been eating well. I want to learn how to write with my left hand,” JoJo continued. “I’ve been playing lots of Minecraft. I’ve been occupying myself.”
