Everyone was left seriously amazed by Halsey‘s actions during the George Floyd protests — especially her rumored boyfriend, Yungblud. The rapper took to Twitter to praise the singer after she helped people who got injured during the protests.

“I need to say, @halsey you were incredible today. You acted fearlessly and selflessly. You were so brave and inspirational,” he said. “When innocent people were unlawfully wounded, you were there with a medical kit bandaging them up. You didn’t think about yourself for one moment. I am proud to know you.”

On Saturday, May 30, the “Without Me” songstress took to the streets with her rumored beau to protest the unjust death of George — a 46-year-old, unarmed black man who died in Minneapolis, MN, on May 25 after a police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes. The white officer — Derek Chauvin — did not move even as George repeatedly said “I can’t breathe,” as heard in a video captured by bystanders. The officer has since been arrested and charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

The 25-year-old revealed that police had fired rubber bullets at her during the protest.

“Fired rubber bullets at us. We did not breach the line. Hands were up. Unmoving. And they gassed and fired,” she wrote, alongside a series of photos from the event.

Then, on Sunday, May 31, Halsey headed out again, but this time, she focused on helping those who were injured.

“Santa Monica, I’m here. I have medical supplies lots of it. They are masking,” she tweeted.

“I don’t know how to articulate the horrors of today. National guard and officers firing rounds into kneeling crowds. We don’t have enough medics on the ground on our side. I was treating injuries I am not qualified to. So much blood spilled. If you have med training please go and standby outskirts,” she wrote afterwards. “And a big personal thank you to @yungblud who literally ran exposed in front of rounds being shot to drag wounded people to safety without even thinking twice.”

“Do not underplay these rubber bullets [because] you have been told they are ‘not lethal.’ I had to bandage a man who looked like his entire face had exploded today,” the musician added. “So before you say, from the comfort of your home, that we’re exaggerating, please consider the injuries some have suffered.”
