Who could forget when Lindsay Lohan totally slammed Zendaya for her 2019 Met Gala dress? The Greatest Showman star’s Cinderella-inspired gown was a fan-favorite, so when the Mean Girls actress had some, well, mean things to say about it, fans were definitely taken aback. So how did Z feel about the criticism? Turns out, she totally just brushed it off.

“I didn’t feel hurt by it and it didn’t make me sad because I have no idea what that person is going through,” the K.C. Undercover actress told The Daily Telegraph on Saturday. “Maybe in some strange way, that comment made them feel better that day. People are only negative because negativity is eating away at them.”

What was there not to like about Zendaya’s look, you ask? Well, the 22-year-old star paid homage to Cinderella by rocking a Tommy Hilfiger gown that legit changed colors, thanks to some crazy fashion technology — and her longtime stylist Law Roach. The Spider-Man leading lady also carried a carriage-shaped clutch to honor the Disney classic. And if that wasn’t enough, she even left behind a glass slipper while walking up the iconic steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

It was all nothing short of magical, but Lindsay felt as though it had been done before. You see, 40-year-old actress Claire Danes wore a similar dress to the 2016 Met Gala for the “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” theme.

“Claire Danes did that with @zacposen already,” Lindsay wrote on an Instagram post of Zendaya’s look back in May.

The Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club star added, “@clairedanes you wore this dress so beautifully, I don’t know why someone thinks that they can be more chic. Ever.”

Considering the fact that neither Claire nor Zendaya were making it a competition, can’t we just all agree that they both looked absolutely stunning?
