Ariana Grande has endured a lot of pain during the last year, but she has proven time and time again she’s a strong one who rises above and turns everything into a positive. On top of dealing with the sudden loss of her ex-boyfriend and longtime friend Mac Miller, the 25-year-old called off her engagement to Pete Davidson, the comedian she once dubbed her “soulmate” and dedicated an oh so romantic song on her album Sweetener to that is literally called “Pete Davidson.” And while their romance was a whirlwind and they got engaged not long after they started dating, it seems like this is something, well, she won’t be doing again.

Being the queen of subtle, yet classy shade that she is, Ari took to Instagram to drop a little comment on a post she stumbled upon. Fashion site The Zoe Report posted a pic of some stunning diamond rings with the caption, “13 tips & tricks for finding the perfect engagement ring (including the popular metal you should actually avoid).” This prompted the songstress to leave her advice which is simply, “don’t.”

LOL, girl is serving up some tea and we are living for it. When she caught wind that her 24-year-old ex made a joke about their relationship in a promo video for an episode of his show Saturday Night Live, she took to Twitter to throw some shade Pete’s way, writing “for somebody who claims to to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh” followed up by “thank u next.” She has since deleted these tweets and as we all found out, “thank u, next” ended up being the name of her power anthem new single that is all about thanking her ex-boyfriends for what she learned from those relationships. She says in the song she hopes to one day walk the aisle and get married just once in her life, so it seems like she’s taking the lesson of maybe not rushing into an engagement to heart! Plus, Ariana is always willing to bring the laughs and some sass even when she’s talking about herself, which she proved by sharing a tweet about her song “No Tears Left to Cry.”

“remember when i was like hey i have no tears left to cry and the universe was like HAAAAAAAAA b—- u thought,” she wrote.

We stan a self-aware legend who is focusing on herself and able to always find some humor even during the rough times. And for that, she really is out here saying thank you, next.
