We have some sad news for you guys. Yeah, you might want to grab your tissues because Camila Cabello and her boyfriend Matthew Hussey have reportedly broken up after over one year together.
Us Weekly confirmed the sad news on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, and we’re seriously heartbroken. As fans know, the couple first started dating back in February 2018 after they met on set of The Today Show. And although they kept their romance pretty quiet, everyone once in a while, the “Havana” songstress would open up about their relationship in an interview. And every time she did, we were living for it.
“He’s so similar to me. In person, we’re just weird and silly and stupid together. He makes me the happiest I’ve ever been in my life,” Camila gushed to Marie Claire in November 2018. “Any time he’s [in the audience at one of my shows], I get super nervous. I stutter or my hands are shaky. It’s annoying, because we’ve been together for kind of like a long time now, but every time, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I have to talk now.’”
Matthew, 32, is a relationship coach, writer and YouTuber. And get this — the 22-year-old singer revealed that she was a fan of his long before they even met!
“I’ve always been really interested in human dynamics and I’ve always listened to a lot of self-improvement stuff. I think that it’s something that rubbed off on me from my mom. I used to listen to his podcast before I even met him. My mom actually listened to his podcast a couple of years before we met each other. I’m really interested in that stuff,” Camila said in another interview.
The devastating split comes just days after the former Fifth Harmony member released a steamy new music video with Shawn Mendes. The two dropped their duet, “Señorita” on June 20, 2019, and they seriously packed on the PDA in the video. But despite their chemistry on set, Camila and Shawn have insisted that they’re nothing more than friends on numerous occasions.
