The internet practically lost it after news hit the web that Camila Cabello was starring in a new live-action remake of Cinderella. Now, after months of anticipation, the upcoming flick finally has a release date!

Drum roll please… Mark your calendars, you guys, because according to Deadline, the new movie is set to hit theaters on February 5, 2021. Ugh, that means a little less than two years away from seeing one of our favorite singers become a real life princess, and we can hardly wait!

ICYMI, Sony announced that they were revamping the fairytale back in April, and it was seriously the best news ever. There unfortunately haven’t been a ton of details released about the upcoming film yet, but what we do know is that it’s going to be epic. How do we know that, you ask? Well besides starring the former Fifth Harmony singer, you’re not going to believe who’s producing it! It’s talk show host James Corden (who is also behind the hilarious series, Carpool Karaoke), and it turns out, he actually came up with the idea for the new film.

Cinderella
Disney

As fans know, Disney released an animated version of the classic story back in 1950. In case you forgot, it’s all about a girl who lives with her mean stepsisters and horrible stepmom. But when her fairy godmother appears and magically transforms her reality into a dream come true, Cinderella enchants the handsome Prince Charming at the royal ball.

And since then, there’s been a ton of remakes and spinoffs over the years. Our personal favorite may be A Cinderella Story, which starred Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray. Or maybe it was Ella Enchanted, which had Anne Hathaway and Hugh Dancy! It’s hard to pick, TBH, but we know that Camila is going to put an amazing spin on the epic story.
