Gather around, Disney fans and Camilizers, because we’ve got amazing news. Camila Cabello will be making her movie debut in a reimagined version of the Disney animated classic — wait for it — Cinderella.
OK, so we know you want all the details about the upcoming flick, but you should know that info about the movie is slim right now. What we do know, however, is that in addition to playing the role of Cinderella, the “Havana” singer will also be heavily involved in creating the soundtrack. Ahh!
Despite never acting in a movie before, we have all the confidence that the 22-year-old will do an incredible job. How do we know? Well, aside from the fact that she’s good at just about everything she does, the movie has a very solid team working behind the scenes. For example, the film will be directed by Kay Cannon, who previously directed a little movie called Blockers.
Also, if you haven’t heard, the idea for the reimagined film came from none other than late night talk show host James Corden, who will also be producing the movie. Do you know what that means? It’s bound to include a few several hilarious jokes. Luckily, the “Never Be the Same” songstress has a wonderful sense of humor, so it sounds to us like she’s the perfect fit.
Don’t take our word for it, though. There are several diehard fans of the singer freaking out over this news on social media, and we can totally relate to their excitement. We mean, Camila’s acting debut? That’s a BIG deal!
One fan wrote, “I AM SHAKING SJKLSLJKSJLKSJSKS,” which is pretty much all of us right now.
Then, another fan basically read our minds and tweeted, “IMAGINE @ShawnMendes AS THE PRINCE IN THE MOVIE.” YES. That’s what we’re talking about!
Sure, there are a bunch of Cinderella and Cinderella-inspired movies out already, but we think Camila will really be able to put her own spin on a Disney classic, don’t you?
