Are Liam Payne and Camila Cabello collaborating on new music? Well, diehard fans of the pop stars are totally convinced.

OK, so we’ll admit this is a bit of a stretch, but what’s a fandom without some intense speculation about a collaboration that very well may never happen, right? And regardless of whether or not the One Direction crooner is working with the 22-year-old, fans did pick up on a potential clue.

So what’s the hint, you ask? Plain and simple, the “Strip That Down” singer followed the “Havana” songstress on Instagram, and fans have been tweeting up a storm ever since about how that must mean the are working together on new music. See?

“So my liam x camila collab is coming right,” a fan tweeted.

Another fan added, “yeees collab please @LiamPayne @Camila_Cabello,” which is pretty much what we’re all thinking right now.

Other fans, however, think this is a major clue that the “Bedroom Floor” singer will play the role of Prince Charming in the upcoming reimagined version of Cinderella, which stars the former Fifth Harmony singer. NGL, that would be pretty awesome.

“I’m not sure i’ll survive seeing liam and camila in cinderella together if the news will be confirmed,” a fan wrote.

Another fan took to social media to say, “Liam and Camila acting together??? This is gonna make me so happy omg.” Uh, same.

But a select few people on the internet think they should collaborate in ~other~ ways, if you catch our drift.

“I’m not saying that liam and camila should date. but I am saying, that camila and liam should date.” LOL.

Although it doesn’t seem like they’re going to be an IRL couple anytime soon, the theory that they might costar in a Cinderella flick is actually pretty intriguing — especially because the 25-year-old recently confirmed that he’s been going on auditions lately.

During an April 10 interview on the new Capital Breakfast Show, the pop star said, “I’ve had some great auditions for a couple of different things, which have been amazing. I’m enjoying it. It’s a fun process.” 

Regardless of whether or not he’ll be cast in Cinderella, we think we can all agree that he’s still our Prince Charming.
