Don’t worry, guys, Camila Mendes isn’t expecting a baby any time soon, the actress is just serving up some major Beyoncé vibes. That’s right, in order to do some promo for her brand new Netflix film Dangerous Lies, the Riverdale star took to Instagram on May 3 and recreated Queen B’s iconic pregnancy announcement from back in 2017.
With a fake baby bump, some flesh-colored undergarments and a clear, plastic veil, the 25-year-old may have added her own spin on the photo, but fans knew exactly what she was getting at! For those who forget, when she was pregnant with her twins, Beyoncé shared the exciting news on February 1, 2017, by wearing a burgundy bra and silk, blue undies, along with a light green veil and surrounded by flowers.
“I had to… BTS of #dangerouslies,” she captioned the pic.
For those who missed it, the Netflix original film premiered on the streaming service on April 30, and it showed fans a new side of the Hollywood starlet. According to Netflix, the thriller followed a girl named Katie Franklin (played by Camila), who, “after losing her waitressing job, took a job as a caretaker to a wealthy elderly man in his sprawling, empty Chicago estate. The two grew close, but when he unexpectedly passed away and named Katie as his sole heir, she and her husband, Adam, were pulled into a complex web of lies, deception and murder. If she’s going to survive, Katie will have to question everyone’s motives — even the people she loves.”
Besides Camila, it will also starred Jessie T. Usher, Jamie Chung, Cam Gigandet, Sasha Alexander, Elliott Gould and more. Get this, you guys — her fake pregnancy announcement is also a huge clue that has to do with a major plot line that goes down during the flick. Yep, we’re definitely planning on watching ASAP!
