Get ready for the ultimate dream team, you guys! That’s right, Kaitlyn Dever is reportedly in talks to star alongside Ben Platt in the upcoming Dear Evan Hansen movie, and this is seriously the most epic duo ever!

According to Deadline, Universal is turning the fan-favorite Broadway play into a movie. As fans know, Ben starred as the title character on stage for two years, so the fact that he’s going to reprise the role for the movie is seriously the best news ever. Now, Jordan Fisher has taken over the role — that is, until Broadway was shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Stephen Chbosky is reportedly directing the upcoming flick, with Marc Platt and Adam Siegel set to produce it. The guys who wrote the music for the play — Benj Pasek and Justin Paul — are going to handle the soundtrack to the movie, while Steve Levenson, who wrote the book for the stage musical, is writing the script.

Dear Evan Hansen tells the story of a young man with a social anxiety disorder, who pretends he was close to a deceased student in an attempt to become closer to the boy’s family. Kaitlyn, who fans may recognize from Men, Women & Children, Last Man Standing and Unbelievable, will play Zoe Murphy, the sister of the boy who passed away.

For those who missed it, this isn’t the only musical being turned into a film. Back in April, it was announced that Disney was gearing up to release Hamilton on their streaming service, Disney+. The movie will premiere on July 3, 2020, and will consist of filmed performances, featuring the original Broadway cast. It was shot at the Richard Rodgers Theater in June 2016.

Plus, Steven Spielberg is remaking West Side Story into a brand new movie, and we can’t wait! It’s going to star Ansel Elgort, Maddie Ziegler and more.
