Queen Ariana Grande is really keeping her fans happy these days as the songstress confirmed she’s dropping another new song. This time, it’s the track “Imagine” from her upcoming album titled Thank U, Next named after the banger of a track that is her first number one hit. The 25-year-old took to Twitter to casually share the news with her millions of followers and now, we are all anxiously waiting for Thursday, Dec. 13 to roll around so we can hear the song.

And naturally, everyone is already planning to stay up as late as necessary for the song’s big debut.

And as if this sudden surprise announcement wasn’t enough, Ari took to her Instagram Story to explain the meaning behind the song, letting us all know that it’s going to be a much different vibe than “Thank U, Next” but together, effectively expresses the overall theme of the album we’re all anxiously waiting for.
“a lot of this album mourns failed yet important, beautiful relationships in my life (as well as celebrates growth/exploring new independence). but for those of you asking about imagine: i would say if ‘thank u, next’ = acceptance… ‘imagine’ = denial. hope that makes sense,” she wrote.
Okay, now we really can’t wait for this song! Ari got super personal on her last album Sweetener, writing songs about her struggles with anxiety, attempting to heal from the horrific tragedy that took place at her concert in Manchester, to falling in and out of love with her exes, all while rising about and spreading love and light. This is going to obviously still be a very real message of the Thank U, Next album as well, along with Ari’s new outlook on life she’s for sure developed the last few months, dealing with the sudden loss of her ex-boyfriend and friend Mac Miller and the end of her whirlwind romance and engagement to Pete Davidson. If there’s one thing that has come out of all this heartache Ariana has had to endure, it’s some inspiring music and we are oh so thankful she’s channeling everything into tunes she’s beyond excited to share with us all. Here for it all, Ari.
