From the looks of it, their whirlwind romance is over. On Monday, November 18, a source reported to Radar Online that Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson had called it quits after a little over a month.
Although the 22-year-old Australian was close by her side as the Hannah Montana star recovered from vocal cord surgery earlier this month, the last time he made an appearance on her social media was on November 3.
“They are taking a break, but want to remain friends,” the source said. “She said she just needs to focus on herself.”
As fans know, the internet pretty much lost it when the pair was spotted kissing on October 3, 2019, and from the constant Instagram Stories, it looked like their love never slowed down since that first day together. For those who missed it, this relationship came just after the singer was caught packing on the PDA with Kaitlynn Carter, while on vacation in Italy together. Both of her newfound, public romances took place after Miley’s ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, filed from divorce back in August ending their 10 year relationship.
According to an insider close to the “Slide Away” singer, her relationship with both Cody and Kaitlynn were allegedly just ploys to win back Liam’s attention. The 29-year-old actor didn’t seem to take notice of his ex’s new relationships. On October 10, he was spotted holding hands with actress Maddison Brown after having lunch in New York City.
“This romance with Cody…and constant ‘look at me’ behavior is all designed to push Liam’s buttons— and to be fair it’s always worked in the past because he’s a good guy who ultimately loves her,” the insider claimed. “But now he’s just rolling his eyes and washing his hands of her, even as a friend, which of course is driving Miley nuts.”
