YouTube star James Charles is looking for love this year! The beauty guru recently announced to fans that he’s looking to get “wifed up” in 2020. How does he plan to get a boyfriend? Well, by using TikTok as a new and improved version of The Bachelor.

On Thursday, January 9, James told followers that after noticing the video streaming app is “pretty much a dating app,” he’s using it to put himself out there.

“I made one observation after downloading TikTok a few weeks ago and that is that this app is pretty much a dating app, let’s be real,” he said in the recently uploaded clip. “Everyone on here is either in a very cute relationship or painfully single and unfortunately for me, I fall into that second group of people.”

“I want to play TikTok Bachelor,” he continued before introducing himself. “My name is James Charles, I’m 20 years old and I’m 5′ 10”. I live in Los Angeles, California and I’m a beauty YouTuber so sometimes I look pretty and when I don’t look pretty I have a pretty fun personality to make up for it,” he said.

He also shared his interests for potential suitors.

“I’m a very hard worker, but in my free time I like horror movies, escape rooms, singing with friends, eating at new restaurants and also I have fun nails for backscratching and cuddling,” he said. “If those things are of interest to you and you are male, please leave a comment down below or, I guess, duet this video.”

Fans immediately loved this idea and some even started a social media campaign to make James the first gay bachelor on ABC’s The Bachelor.

“That is a GENIUS idea. Please James go on The Bachelor!!!!” one fan wrote on Twitter. Another added, “If there was a gay bachelor, I might actually watch.”

This isn’t the only show that James has in the works. In November 2019, the social media star announced that his upcoming beauty competition show, James Charles Instant Influencerwould premiere on his YouTube channel sometime in 2020.
