Everyone pretty much knows that James Charles is not one you should mess with. And that’s because the YouTuber is definitely not afraid to clap back if someone’s wronged him. And that’s what happened on Wednesday, March 13, when an internet troll started spreading a screenshot of a DM, claiming it was sent by the beauty guru.

Jovan Hill, a rising social media star, posted the screenshot to Twitter. The tweet, which has now been deleted, was captioned with a single question mark. The screenshot appeared to be an offensive Instagram message from James, which consisted of a racial slur. Obviously, the message was fake, but that unfortunately didn’t stop it from quickly spreading around the web. And when James caught wind of it, he was not happy.

“This is absolutely not funny, delete this immediately or my lawyer will be in contact,” he replied in a now deleted tweet.

“Let’s do it baby I know the law,” Jovan responded.

“It’s scary to me that there are actual people on twitter who crave attention so badly that they make fake screenshots to try and ruin other’s careers and lives,” James added. “It’s not funny.”

And when a fan told the makeup mogul to “take a joke,” he added, “Getting messages, death threats and emails questioning ones character over a fake screenshot is not a joke.”

Definitely not cool. As fans know, this isn’t the first time James was in the midst of a social media scandal. Back in February, an explicit video was spreading around Twitter, and some fans thought it featured the 19-year-old.

But James was quick to shut these rumors down, tweeting, “Apparently my sex tape is going around!!??? This is exciting news to me considering I’m still very much a virgin lol.”

“If my sex tape ever DID leak you all would know because i’d be posting it everywhere fully monetized with 34 mid-roll ads,” he added.

Ugh, can people please stop spreading fake rumors about our favorite sister? Thanks.
