After a Twitter user named Good Citizen Records (@RecordsCitizen) posted a screenshot of the alleged LAPD public record showing what happened during the 2019 robbery of Jeffree Star‘s cosmetic warehouse on July 22, the YouTuber has officially spoken out about it.

For those who missed it, back in April 2019, Jeffree took to YouTube and claimed that his Los Angeles warehouse was broken into, and that $2.5 million worth of product was stolen. At the time, the internet star also told fans via Twitter that he was working alongside the FBI to “track down black market makeup sellers” following the incident.

Recently, Good Citizen Records accused Jeffree of lying about the cost of product that was stolen, after the alleged records showed the “total value of the theft was $10,000, with an additional $30,000 in physical damages.”

In June, fellow YouTuber D’Angelo Wallace also alleged that Jeffree lied about the robbery “for promo” in a lengthy Twitter thread. D’Angelo went on to explain that despite Jeffree’s claims that he was working with the FBI, law enforcement seemingly made “zero confirmation.” He also reposted a story from 2017 which chronicled a $4.5 million cosmetics robbery, also in Los Angeles.

“Y’all notice that Jeffree Star’s robbery story is EXACTLY the same as this actually real makeup warehouse robbery story that happened a year prior?” he wrote at the time

Following these allegations, Jeffree uploaded a video on Sunday, August 9, and denied the claims. He also said people on social media are trying to “minimize” the entire incident.

“There’s someone that tried to say that there’s a police report from Jeffree Star Cosmetics, that our warehouse and our robber, that we only had $10,000 of things lost. It’s all so silly, but people run with things and I get it, this is what 2020 is about. A lot of people are bored and miserable, and just want to make up s**t all day. I’m used to it,” he said in the video. “It’s just shocking the levels of things people are believing now. I’m like, you guys, there was 30,000 units of just concealer stolen, and so many other things. It was so horrifying and awful and scary. So for someone to try and minimize it like it’s a hoax, I was like…”

He added, “Sadly my robbery was real, no matter what anyone wants to say. That was over a year ago and I can’t believe that was even brought up again.”
