YouTuber Jeffree Star received some major backlash from fans on Twitter regarding his limited edition Peppermint Frost palette. On Monday, December 9, the 34-year-old claimed fans told him to “kill himself” after he suggested that he might restock the exclusive highlighter on Jeffree Star Cosmetics’ website one more time.

“I asked one simple question: should we make the peppermint frost mystery box exclusive available one more time for all the people who couldn’t get it?” he said in a series of videos on Instagram Stories. “There’s legitimate people like, ‘if you make that again, b***h, kill yourself,’ and I’m like, OK.”

It all started on Sunday, December 8 after Jeffree noticed that the highlighter palette was being resold online for hundreds of dollars. The makeup artist wrote to fans on Twitter and asked if they would be interested in him selling them individually.

“I’m seeing so many people reselling the Mystery Box exclusive [Peppermint Frost] palette. Should I make more and sell them by itself?” he wrote. “You all know now that makeup takes a few months to make so I wouldn’t have it until the end of March. But I’ll do it if you guys want me to.”

Fans were quick to shut down the idea and said the palette should be exclusive to those who bought the Mystery Boxes. Some people even sent death threats to the makeup artist for suggesting a restock.

“I mean it was marketed as an exclusive and a reason to buy the box. If you sell more it’s no longer an exclusive,” one fan wrote, to which Jeffree responded, “That’s why I’m asking everyone’s opinions, not everyone will ever agree but I love to hear what you guys have to say!”

In another tweet, Jeffree told fans that he “shouldn’t have asked” because people were telling him to kill himself. He also assured customers that the Peppermint Frost palette will never be made again.

“What we’re NOT going to do today, is argue over makeup,” he said before signing off the social media site. “I am a man of my word and was simply asking a question to everyone.”

In his Instagram Stories, Jeffree explained why he logged off Twitter the day before.

“So it was Sunday, I logged off and went right back to enjoying my life, because that is way too insane,” he explained. “I’m not going to make it again, I get it, it was advertised as an exclusive. But first of all, it is my brand, hi, I can change the rules whenever I want.”
